12 June Covid Update 11
I am sure you were as pleased as I was to hear the Prime Minister’s announcement about moving to Alert Level 1.
For us, there will be some small changes in what we are doing. We are now back to full operation, but not quite back to normal. Our school continues to be safe to attend, including for any staff and children who are considered more vulnerable to COVID.
There are now no distancing rules, and teachers are enjoying having the freedom to organise desks for group work. We have maintained the Level 2 cleaning routines, with the daily use of anti-viral cleaners, and we continue to encourage good hygiene practices and provide hand sanitiser.
We are supporting contact tracing by having QR code posters at our entrances. So if you haven’t already downloaded the NZ COVID Tracer app, the Ministry of Health’s NZ- COVID Tracer app page has information to help you do that.
We can now look forward to inter-school and community sport, cultural events and performances, regular assemblies and to welcoming all of our school community on-site for these activities.
Please remember the Golden Rules remain for schools, as for the rest of the community.
If you’re sick, stay home. Don’t go to work or school. Don’t socialise.
If you have cold or flu symptoms, call your doctor or Healthline and make sure
you get tested.
Wash your hands. Wash your hands. Wash your hands.
Sneeze and cough into your elbow, and regularly disinfect shared surfaces.
