Councillors
Each class elects a councillor in Term One. These students are role models within the school and take on a range of responsibilities, helping to organise special events. The councillors must develop their leadership skills, learning to speak confidently while leading assembly or class meetings, greeting visitors and giving guided tours or organising events such as mufti days or fundraisers. Most importantly our councillors must represent our school values of Pride in Ourselves, Respect for Others and Care for the Environment.
During regular meetings, the councillors are expected to communicate openly with staff and help to develop the culture of the school and they are given opportunities to learn about their role as a leader.
Congratulations to all students elected this year as class councillors.
House Leaders
We have four houses - Rangi (blue), Maui (Yellow), Tane (Green) and Mahuika (Red). In Terms 1 and 4, the school has sports every Friday in which our House Team Leaders manage groups.
Team Leaders are elected at the beginning of the year at house meetings.
House Team Leaders lead their team by marking the roll, directing their team to their designated sports activity and promoting sportsmanship.
Other Roles
There are many other opportunities around the school to take on responsibility and leadership, these include roles such as librarian, AV monitor, and tea duty.
