Kia ora koutou,
Enrolments for 2024 are now open. We encourage all our year 8 students to get a prospectus or enrolment form from the college you are planning to attend. Remember that every school will have a process for both in, and out of zone enrolment and it is important to get these in on time.
Please also see the information regarding the expo evening at Edgewater College this week.
Congratulations to all students who completed a science project last term and thank you to all parents/whānau who came along to view the projects in the hall. There were many well thought out experiments with interesting questions being tested.
Our winners this year are:
1st place: "The Best Music" - Lewis Kouka rm 2
2nd place: "Thirsty Plants" - Chelsea Campbell rm 8
3rd place: "Gender and Memory" - Zoe Afamasaga rm10
"The accuracy of red cabbage as a pH indicator" - Shaireen Nogoy rm 4
Every year we invite the year 6 students from our local schools to attend an open morning for the school. This gives them the opportunity to become familiar with our school but also to see how an intermediate school is run generally. The move from primary to intermediate is a big step and we believe the open morning provides students with an experience that will help bridge the gap.
A reminder that our first day for term 2 is Wednesday 26th April. The Monday is a Teacher Only Day and Tuesday is Anzac Day.
We are looking forward to welcoming back all our students and whānau for another busy term.
We have completed our lockdown exercise and all students, staff and persons on-site are safely accounted for. Everyone did extremely well and responded to instructions. A notice will be going out to parents/caregivers tonight to provide some more information about our emergency lockdown procedures.

I hope everyone has remained safe and well over the last few days. We have been on site and confirmed that the school is safe and ready for us to return.
Therefore, we will be open and back to normal operation, including school lunches tomorrow.
Our disrupted start to the year continues with school's closure on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th due to the severe weather event we are currently experiencing.
Kia ora koutou,
Due to the current state of emergency in Auckland, our school will be closed this week. This means the first day of school has been moved to Tuesday 7th February.
