Announcements
Every year we invite the year 6 students from our local schools to attend an open morning for the school. This gives them the opportunity to become familiar with our school but also to see how an intermediate school is run generally. The move from primary to intermediate is a big step and we believe the open morning provides students with an experience that will help bridge the gap.
A reminder that our first day for term 2 is Wednesday 26th April. The Monday is a Teacher Only Day and Tuesday is Anzac Day.
We are looking forward to welcoming back all our students and whānau for another busy term.
We have completed our lockdown exercise and all students, staff and persons on-site are safely accounted for. Everyone did extremely well and responded to instructions. A notice will be going out to parents/caregivers tonight to provide some more information about our emergency lockdown procedures.
Kia ora koutou
I hope everyone has remained safe and well over the last few days. We have been on site and confirmed that the school is safe and ready for us to return.
Therefore, we will be open and back to normal operation, including school lunches tomorrow.
Our disrupted start to the year continues with school's closure on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th due to the severe weather event we are currently experiencing.
Kia ora koutou,
Due to the current state of emergency in Auckland, our school will be closed this week. This means the first day of school has been moved to Tuesday 7th February.
The school term starts on Wednesday 1st February at 8:40am for all enrolled students.
Current year 8 students should meet in the quad and all year 7, new students, and whānau to meet in front of the office.
We will start the day with a powhiri.
The school office will be open from Wednesday 25th January, 8am-3:30pm.
Stationery packs can be purchased from the school office. Please see further details here.
Uniforms are available at NZ Uniforms in Botany.

Pakuranga Intermediate is joining the movement on Pink Shirt Day (Friday 20 May 2022), and encouraging our staff and students to Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu, Mauri Tū, Mauri Ora – Speak up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying! Bullying in Aotearoa is a real problem. We have the third-highest rate of school bullying out of 36 OECD countries and one in 10 workers feels discriminated against or bullied at work. Those bullied are far more likely to experience mental health issues.

Kia ora koutou, Please read our latest update letter here that provides some information about the move to the orange level of the covid protection framework.
