Announcements
The school will be closed this coming Monday 3rd August for a Teacher Only Day.

I am sure you were as pleased as I was to hear the Prime Minister’s announcement about moving to Alert Level 1.
For us, there will be some small changes in what we are doing. We are now back to full operation, but not quite back to normal. Our school continues to be safe to attend, including for any staff and children who are considered more vulnerable to COVID.

We are quickly moving towards school reopening on May 18, for all students and staff. We are excited to welcome students back and get our programmes underway.

Like me, I am sure you have followed with interest the announcements made by the Prime Minister.
It is reassuring to hear how well our country has done at minimising the impacts of COVID-19. Alert Levels 4 and 3 have not been easy, and I thank you for your ongoing support for the work we are doing.

We wanted to give you a quick update on how we are doing under Alert Level 3.
Our distance learning is working well. While it will undoubtedly have challenges for you at
home balancing work and care for your children, we are getting a lot of great feedback too. It
is exciting to see the innovation and brilliant stories coming through of what our students,
families and whānau have been up to at home.
We were also excited to be able to reopen our premises for staff and students on site last

We hope that Term 2 and our distance learning programme has been a success for you so far. We know there will have been a number of challenges for you to deal with but we have been getting some great feedback about the learning that is happening and thank you for all your support.

Welcome to term 2. I hope you have had a safe and happy Easter break.

With today’s announcement by the Government, we are implementing with urgency our plan to support your child’s learning from home. We appreciate this is a sudden and significant change, and will be heavily disruptive to many people in our community.

You may have seen that the World Health Organisation has now declared COVID-19 to be a pandemic. As noted by the Minister of Health, this doesn’t change what New Zealand is doing to respond to coronavirus.

Kia ora and Welcome back for 2020.
Term One begins on Thursday 30th January at 8:40am.
All returning students should meet in the quad and new students and parents will meet at the front of the school. New students and whānau will be welcomed with a powhiri.
The office will be open from Thursday 23rd January.
