Dear Parents/Whānau

Dear Parents and Whānau

Mar 17 2019

On behalf of the Board and staff of Pakuranga Intermediate

I extend my warmest thoughts to everyone affected, in particular to our families of the Muslim faith.

Our 40 flags in the hall, are a proud acknowledgment and celebration of the rich diversity, of our Pakuranga Intermediate whanau.

I can reassure our families and community, as we return to school tomorrow, that we will be particularly mindful of our students’ wellbeing.

I am happy and available to speak with any of our whanau.

It is that time of year when we offer the Entertainment Book to all Whānau and friends of Pakuranga Intermediate school.

The Entertainment Book provides discounts to a huge range of restaurants, attractions, shopping, travel and more.  Every purchase helps our school with our fundraising so please feel free to share the link below with family and friends.

You can pre-order and pay through this link or through the school office.  Books will be available from the 1st April.

As their first major event, the councillors have organised a mufti day for Friday 8th March.  The theme for the day is ‘House Colours’ and there will be prizes awarded for the best dressed student in each house and we will also be running some lunchtime events.

We are asking for a gold coin donation which will go towards the cost of camp this year.  The councillors are looking forward to a fun day of building team spirit.

We would like to encourage parents and whānau to support us through the year with events.  Our fist class trips begin this Friday with Rooms 10 and 11 going to Eastern beach as part of our 'Survivor Rocky Shore' Inquiry topic.  All class will be visiting over the next few weeks and parent helpers are needed on each of these trips.  Please contact your child's classroom teacher if you are available to help.

We are very pleased to announce that the new school uniform has been approved and ordered and will be available from a new supplier, NZ Uniforms, from early next term.  This has been a long process with input from many in our community and we would like to thank all those who took the time to provide feedback and suggestions.

We open again for Term 4 on Monday 15th October.

We are looking forward to a busy term with many events planned such as the Arts and Cultural Extravaganza, Prizegiving and Graduation Dance.  Please take the next few days to ensure you are ready to learn with the correct stationery and uniform.

To ensure the smooth running of the school we have a few reminders for students and whānau:
